As soon as children start Year 1 they use their experiences of time and the study of past events in the Foundation Stage.
As the children progress through the school they take on a more investigative approach using a wider range of source material, such as photographs, archive records, maps, historical sites, the internet and computer software. This enables them to form an understanding of the lives and times of people who lived in the past.
Some of our exciting topics in Key Stage One include travelling back in time to study the Great Fire of London and all about Life aboard the Titanic. Following on from this in Key Stage Two the children learn all about life during the Stone Age, Roman and Celtic times, Who lived in Castles and the Tudors. Our lessons also include some contemporary history including a study of the famous singers- The Beatles and a study of the first Moon Landing.
