The rigorous analysis of data collected across the school year is used to prioritise areas for improvement. An academy improvement plan is established to drive this improvement.

As part of the Academy’s improvement priorities for the academic year 2016/17 is an academy wide focus on Mathematics to ensure good progress across all phases, for all groups, and a focus on the teaching of Reading at KS2. The academy is focusing further too on the progress of individual children with specific targets set for each individual in Reading, Writing and Maths informed by a range of data including standardised assessments from GL undertaken twice yearly.

New approaches to teaching Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling have also been adopted for the year 2016/17.
