At Woodnewton a Learning Community we believe it is every child’s right to achieve his or her full potential. We aim to raise the aspirations of, and expectations for, all pupils with Special Educational Needs.

We are proud to be part of the Inspiring Futures through Learning trust and all the family of schools follow the IFtL one-page profile for or learners with SEND and our strategy. Please see the videos below for further information.

IFTL SEND offer - Rationale

This video provides an introduction to our IFtL SEND offer, links to key IFtL strategic documentation and the rationale for this. It describes the rationale for SEND being a key focus for all of us at IFtL, how our SEND offer is underpinned by other key IFtL documentation such as our IFtL one-page profile and equity objectives, the strong schools strategic plan and SEND strategy objective and finally how these are linked with the SEND strategy suite of IFtL key documents.

IFtL SEND Strategy

Woodnewton SEND Offer

At Woodnewton we have been centrally involved in the creation of the Trust-wide strategy and passionately believe in ensuring opportunities, both learning and enrichment, for all our children including those with SEND.

This video explains our SEND processes and procedures as detailed in our SEND information report.

The Local Authority Offer

The children and Families Bill 2014 places a requirements on local authorities and schools to publish and keep under review information about the services they expect to be available for children and young people with SEND aged 0-25. This is the “Local Offer”.

The intention of the Local Offer is to improve choice and transparency for families. It will also be an important resource for parents, families and professionals in understanding the range of services and provision in the local area.
